### Things to Know Before You Get Started

* Before you get started, review your print set, specifically reviewing the steel exploded assembly print(s) and the wood exploded assembly print(s)
* Read over the provided material prior to the start of your installation
* This is, at minimum, a two person job
* Viewrail Glass systems and fittings are designed to have a 1" gap between panels of glass

*If your Stack order was structured so that the stringers, tread pans, temporary treads, and plywood (glass) templates were shipped and installed first, those temporary components will need to be dismantled before continuing. Remove the plywood templates, glass mounting hardware, and*\
*the 2x12 temporary treads. Otherwise, if you received the entire order as one complete shipment and did not install temporary treads or railing, proceed to the next step.*

* Drill a hole for the LED harness to pass through

*Note: This hole can be in the floor below the first tread or through the header. The LED Wireless Receivers and the fuses on the 3-Wire Connectors should be accessible for replacement or adjustment. Usually stored in a nearby closet or cabinet.*

• Before commencing any installation or maintenance work, disconnect power at the breaker box and ensure that it cannot be re-connected inadvertently

* Connect the Red & Black wires from the LED Power Supply to the “V -” connections on the LED Controller
* Connect the Stringer Harness Pigtail to the LED Controller - Red to “V+”, Black to “W” & White to “C”
* Secure the whole assembly the structure near the hole you drilled in STEP 2

*Note: You can use double sided tape to secure the LED Controller to the Power Supply.*

* Connect to the 120V AC line to the LED Power Supply

* Run the loomed stringer harness through the round holes in tread pans A on the glass side of the system
* Make sure that the tread connector harnesses can reach through the rectangular hole in the tread pans B
* Connect the Stringer Harness to the pigtail coming off of the LED Controller

*Note: The Stringer Harness is designed to allow multiple sections to be connected together to form a longer harness.*

* Dry fit the tread to ensure fitment
* Starting at the top tread, apply construction adhesive to the front and top of the top most Steel Pan
* Run the attached LED harness through one of the large\
  openings
* Firmly press the tread rise & run assemblies to the glued\
  surfaces

*Note: Take note of any need to scribe the any edge of the tread that comes into contact with the structure to ensure a*\
*professional fit and finish.*

• Use 3\
/4\
II wood screws to secure the rise & run assembly\
to the tread pan from underneath\
Note: These screws are only meant to hold the tread in place\
while the construction adhesive cures. Be careful not to over\
tighten them.

• Using a 1/4" drill bit, drill 4 holes, 2 per side, through the bottom of the riser exactly 1/2" from the lip of the wide openings in the tread pan

These pilot holes will be used in a later step to secure the lower tread run to the rise of the tread above

* Plug in the harness that you threaded through the tread pan into the Main Stringer Harness
* You can take this time to test the functionality of the LED strip in the tread by powering up the line
* Disconnect power to the line to proceed

* Moving to the next tread pan down in the system, dry fit the tread and make any scribe cuts needed
* Apply construction adhesive to the front and top of the top most Steel Pan as well as a very small amount to the edge of the tread above where it comes into contact with the one you are currently installing
* Run the attached LED harness through one of the large openings and firmly press the tread rise & run assemblies to the glued surfaces

* Move back underneath the stair system and locate the 1/4" holes you drilled into the bottom of the top tread in STEP 9
* Use a 11/64" drill bit and continue drilling the pilot holes into the 2nd from the top tread to a depth of 1 3/4"

* Drive (4) 1 1/2" Pocket Hole Screws, through the pilot holes drilled in the previous step to secure the lower tread’s run to the upper tread’s rise

*Note: These screws are only meant to hold the tread in place while the construction adhesive cures. Be careful not to over*\
*tighten them.*

• Repeat STEPS 11-16 for the remaining tread rise and run assemblies following the pattern below\

* *Tread 13: Dry Fit - Scribe Cut - Glue (Step 11)*
* *Tread 13: LED Harness - Place Tread (Step 11)*
* *Tread 13: Drill Bottom 4 Holes (Step 12)*
* *Tread 13: Secure w/ Screws in bottom holes (Step 13)*
* *Tread 13: Secure with remaining screws (Step 14)*
* *Tread 13: Drill Bottom 4 Holes (Step 15)*
* *Tread 13: Connect LED Harness (Step 16)*
* *Tread 14: Dry Fit - Scribe Cut - Glue (Step 11)*
* *Tread 14: LED Harness - Place Tread (Step 11)*
* *Tread 14: etc.*

* Use construction adhesive to secure the Frame Brace to the bottom of the 2nd tread pan, flush with the bottom\
  lip of the tread pan
* Let the adhesive cure before moving forward

* Add more construction adhesive to the top, rear portion of an Anti-Run
* With help, position the Anti-Run under the second tread
* Fix with bar clamps

*Note: Work from the bottom and move to the top*

* Use (5) 3/4" wood screws to secure the anti-run to the tread pan from inside of the tread pan

*Note: These screws are only meant to hold the tread in place while the construction adhesive cures. Be careful not to over tighten them.*

Do not use construction adhesive if your LED power supply is installed inside the 1st tread. This will allow for future maintenance if needed.

* Add construction adhesive to the rear, lower portion of an Anti-Rise so that it will come into contact with the Frame Brace once set into position under the second tread pan
* Press into place
* Using at least 3 trim or pin nails, secure the Anti-Rise to the Frame Brace as shown

* Install the remaining Anti-Rise and Run Assemblies

* Check the alignment of the all the wood treads and anti-treads
* Use a belt sander if there are any that stick out
* The Tread Gaskets applied in the next step will cover any raw edge made here

* Stick on the Tread Gaskets on to sides of each tread
* Slide a Nylon Bushing over each exposed bolt

* Using your shop drawings and the identification label on each of the glass panels to find the first panel
* Have a partner hold it in place while you do the following two steps

* Slide the Vedera Gaskets on to the exposed threads of the bolts followed by the Vedera Plates

* Assemble the rubber O-Ring & the Slide a Vedera Glass Pin End Cap (Male) parts
* Place one of the assemblies on each bolt
* Hand tighten a nut on to each hanger bolt
* There will be play in the exact positioning of the glass panel, this will allow you to make adjustments to the\
  alignment of the panels
* Repeat for all remaining glass panels

* Hand tighten a nut on to each bolt, while doing your best to maintain plumbness of the glass panel
* There will be play in the exact positioning of the glass panel, this will allow you to make adjustments in a later step

* Using a torque wrench and a 9/16" socket head, tighten the first and last nut on the glass pin to 23 lb ft
* Do not tighten all of them, as this will make it easier if you need to readjust the fitment once all the other glass\
  panels are installed

**Repeat STEPS 25-29 for each panel on**\
**your run**

* Once all the panels are in place, ensure that each is aligned with it’s neighbors
* Unless otherwise specified on the provided plans, the system is designed to have a 1" gap between panels

* Using a torque wrench and a 9/16" socket head, tighten all the remaining nuts on the Vedera Pins to 23 lb ft

* Identify and prepare the Vedera wood covers
* Although the rubber O rings will provide a snug fit in the predrilled holes for the wood covers, it is recommended to use silicone on the face of the pin around the bolt hole in order to provide additional strength
* Attach the wood covers onto each pin
* These will fit snugly and could require soft taps to place

* It will be necessary to program the Kinetic Wall Switch in order to test the system
* Press and hold the button on the LED Wireless Receiver (found inside the access panel in the stringer tube) until\
  the Red LED starts to blink slowly
* Press the UP direction on Kinetic Wall Switch
* Repeat the process for adding additional remotes

* Operate the remotes to test functionality of the system
* Press Up (A) on the switch to turn the lights on
* Press Down (B) on the switch to turn the lights off

* Press & Hold Down (B) on the switch to adjust the color temperature between Cool White and Warm White
